One electronically tested 14KT white gold ladies cast tanzanite and diamond ring with a bright oolish finish. The featured tanzanite is set within a two tiered inner diamond bezel and outer tanzanite bezel, supported by split shoulders and completed by a two and one-half millimeter wide band. Identified with markings of "14K". Condition is new, good workmanship. Containing:
One prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 11.00 x 8.85 x 5.60mm, approximate weight of 3.98ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, medium, very slightly grayish, violet color, (GIA V 5/3) to medium, very slightly grayish, purple, (GIA P 5/3), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. The stone displays 40% extinction. Graded in the setting.

Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method.
