One electronically tested silver and gold ladies custom cast & assembled ruby and diamond ring. The featured ruby is set within a diamond lattice gallery supported by an elaborate lattice under gallery and lattice shoulders, completed by a three millimeter wide band. Bright and anodized finish. Condition is new, good workmanship.
One bezel set oval mixed cut natural ruby, measuring 7.00 x 5.50 x 3.58mm, approximate weight of 1.16ct., clarity is heavily included, type II, medium dark, very slightly brownish, red color, (GIA R 6/3), cut is good. Transmitting light somewhat diffusely, transparent to translucent. Naturally occurring internal & external characteristics are present. Indications of laboratory high temperature heat treatment, with glass & flux additives. Graded in the setting. Ruby has a low tolerance to rhodium plating, repolishing the surface, & ultrasonic cleaning.
Four illusion set rose tablets cut diamonds (depth est.) approximate total weight of 4 Stones = 0.12ct. Graded in the settingEach tablet diamond is bezel set and fitted over foil backs. This was a popular method of illusion setting in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The final appearance of the diamond is that of a much larger stone, an illusion.
